Witness appeal following assault in CBD on Melbourne Cup Day

Transit Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged assault in Melbourne on 1 November.

A 28-year-old woman was walking along the Princes Bridge in company with a man when she was physically assaulted by him about 9pm.
She was allegedly punched to the facial area and sustained serious injuries. The female has then walked towards the Flinders Street Railway Station where she was located by police and taken to hospital
Police have interviewed a 27-year-old man for recklessly cause injury.
He was released pending summons.
