Investigators have been told an unknown man attended the Caroline Springs Boulevard centre about 5.30pm on Thursday 3 November, accompanied by two young children.

The man asked a receptionist what the opening hours of the centre were and then thanked her and left.

Police believe the same man returned to the centre about an hour later after it had closed, gaining entry via an internal door to an adjacent business.

The man is seen on CCTV searching through draws and breaking into a cash register while the children, a boy and a girl, follow him around the reception and waiting area.

It is not believed anything was taken as a result of the break-in.

Investigators have released two images and CCTV of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report to www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
