The festival will be held at the Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House in Albion, and brings together over 30 sustainability exhibitors and presenters that can help us make meaningful changes in our daily lives.
Mayor of Brimbank, Cr Lucinda Congreve said the event is a showcase of leading sustainability programs and is a great way to get practical advice on ways to incorporate a sustainable approach to living.
“The event is all about learning new and exciting ways to look after our community and the environment, and encouraging sustainable living.
“Learn what it means to embrace sustainable choices on a personal level, what is possible to achieve at home and what is important at a local community level around social, economic and environmental sustainability.
“Join in the fun with exhibits and demonstrations on water efficiency, food waste, gardening, recycling and much more – all at no charge,” Cr Congreve said.
The event features a range of exhibits and workshops including Neighbourhood House garden planting, composting, hands-on sustainable product making (Boomerang Bags and beeswax wraps), and presentations on biodiversity, waste and recycling, solar energy and sustainable food and product choices.
There will also be local, sustainably sourced food and coffee, and fun activities for children including roaming native animal displays, indigenous storytelling, face painting, and a creek discovery walk. Bring along your keep cup and water bottle – as the event will be plastic free.
