Melbourne man charged with child sexual assault and exploitation offences
- using a carriage service to transmit indecent communication to a person under the age of 16 contrary to 474.27A(1) of the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth);
- using a carriage service to procure a person under 16 years of age to engage in sexual activity contrary to section 474.26(1) of the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth); and
- intentionally sexually penetrate a child under 16 contrary to section 49B(1) of the Crimes Act 1958 (Vic).

Yesterday (Thursday, 11 October 2018), the Victoria Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET) comprising of members from the Australian Federal Police and Victoria Police executed a search warrant at a residence in Kew, Victoria. Police seized electronic devices allegedly containing child exploitation material.

The maximum penalty for theses offences is 15 years imprisonment.
Police will allege the man communicated with the victim online, received child exploitation images and on several occasions met with the victim and performed sexual activities.
The man is scheduled to appear before Melbourne Magistrates Court today (Friday, 12 October 2018).
