Brimbank City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest to join a Community Consultative Committee to advise Council about the future use of the former Keilor Library site.
It will also host drop-in listening post sessions to hear from community members their views about the future use of the facility.
Mayor of Brimbank, Cr John Hedditch encouraged interested community members be part of the consultation by attending a listening post or applying to be part of the Community Consultative Committee.
“There has been significant community interest in the future use of this building and we want to make sure that before this use is determined, we have considered all possibilities and suggestions.
“We’re calling on interested community members to apply to be part of the Community Consultative Committee which will act as a direct communication channel between Council and the community to gain valuable and meaningful input into this process.
“We also have two listening posts planned for the 27th of April and 3rd of May to encourage the wider community to share their ideas for the future use of the building,” Cr Hedditch said.
The Community Consultative Committee will operate on a voluntary basis from April to June 2017, with the first meetings being held on 10 May and 31 May 2017.
An online application form is available at brimbank.vic.gov.au/keilorcommittee.
Members will be selected following an assessment of applications via set criteria as outlined in the Terms of Reference. Applications close 24 April 2017.
Drop-in listening posts will be held on:
