It was just after 1pm when a man exited a silver BMW and entered the Nepean Highway store where he selected two helmets.
The man approached the counter where he asked staff if he could purchase the items and then, without any attempt to pay, ran from the store carrying the helmets.
Chased by staff he ran about 50 metres along Nepean Highway before he was apprehended and pinned down.
Within about 30 seconds the BMW reappeared with a woman driving and a man in the backseat.
The rear passenger produced what is believed to be a firearm that he pointed out the window before saying “let him go”.
The staff let the man go and he fled south in the vehicle with the two others.
The silver BMW sedan has a registration number of SWD 003 and is yet to be located.
The man who entered the store and stole the helmets is described as Caucasian, mid 20s, about 175-180cm tall with short dark wavy hair.
He was wearing a black long sleeved t-shirt with white emblems on both upper sleeves and front left breast and back, light denim skinny jeans, and blue Nike runners.
The second man who produced the firearm is described as Middle Eastern in appearance, about 170cm tall with short black hair and a beard.
He was wearing a white t-shirt, black jeans and distinctive red runners.
The woman is described as aged in her mid 20’s, with dark long hair, wearing a royal blue hooded top.
Anyone with information about the theft or locates the vehicle is urged to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
