A priority application period for females and first time applicants opens 22 January 2018.
Applications for everyone else open on 19 February 2018.
Under the program, children aged between six and 18 years are eligible to apply for up to $200 financial assistance (up to 75 per cent of the membership cost) to contribute to club fees, provided they live in Brimbank and their name is listed on a Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card.
Mayor of Brimbank, Cr Margaret Giudice said In2Sport has been extremely successful in helping kids across Brimbank join in local sports.
“Since the program was first introduced in early 2013 we’ve provided more than 2000 subsidised sports club memberships to help more than 1300 kids get involved in local sports.
“Of these subsidised memberships, almost 900 have been for kids who had never played sport before.
“I encourage any families out there with kids who want to join a local sports club - and who meet the criteria - to apply,” the Mayor said.
This round of the 2017/2018 program will consider applications for participation in winter and year round sports, including: soccer; AFL football; rugby union; tennis; netball; basketball; volleyball; and badminton.
The subsidy for successful applicants is passed on directly to the sports clubs through Brimbank City Council.
To apply, simply fill out an application form and submit it to Brimbank City Council along with a copy of your family’s health care or pension card.
Application forms are available online at brimbank.vic.gov.au/in2sport or pick up a copy at a Brimbank leisure centre, library, customer service centre or your local sporting club.
