Police Seek Pair for Car Thefts and Deceptions

Police are investigating following the theft of two motor vehicles from Brighton and Caulfield which were subsequently located burnt out.

    Kingston Crime Investigation Unit detectives have been told a man stole a white Toyota Aurion from a Brighton driveway in Stanley on 8 February sometime after 8.30pm.

    The stolen sedan contained credit cards which the offender used at numerous locations to purchase cigarettes in the St Kilda area.

    On 14 February a woman stole car keys from a retail store in Derby Road, Caulfield sometime between 4.45pm and 5pm.

    The woman subsequently stole a 2012 Mazda 6 from Derby Street shortly later.

    The sedan was located burnt out in Oxford Street Oakleigh

    On 12 February, the Mazda was located burnt out in Lace Street, Euemmerring.

    Investigators have released images of a man and woman they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

    The man is described as being in his mid 20s with an olive complexion and shaved head.

    The woman was described to have an Australian accent.
