Man charged following series of incidents involving stolen truck

It is alleged the flatbed truck was stolen from Quarter Street, Roxburgh Park just before 1pm yesterday before being involved in a number of collisions in Preston and Lalor.
It is further alleged the driver of the truck was involved in an unsuccessful carjacking at a Lalor service station.
The 47-year-old South Morang man was arrested outside Epping Police Station about 8.30pm.
He has since been charged with 20 offences, including theft of motor vehicle, conduct endangering life, dangerous driving, carjacking, drive while disqualified, commit indictable offence while on bail, fail to stop and render assistance after an accident, and resist arrest.
The man has been remanded to appear at Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on 5 September.
