Police were called to Springvale Road near the intersection of Serpells Road after a car allegedly mounted a concrete island and clipped another vehicle shortly after 3.30pm.

The driver, a 34-year-old Warrandyte North man, allegedly returned a positive reading for drugs.

He is expected to be charged on summons with careless driving, unlicensed driving, unregistered motor vehicle and drug driving.

The man then called a friend from the scene to pick him up.

His mate, a 26-year-old Ringwood man, arrived and was subsequently drug tested, where he too allegedly returned a positive reading.

He is expected to be charged on summons with offences including drug driving, unaccompanied learner driver and failing to display L plates.
