Celebrate the Lunar New Year with Brimbank Libraries!
To mark the occasion, library staff will distribute the traditional red packets with chocolate gold coins to children at story time sessions which will also feature books relating to Lunar New Year and the Year of the Rooster.
The red packets symbolise well-wishing and luck.
Bilingual story time sessions at Deer Park, St Albans and Sunshine libraries will include a special morning tea and Rooster craft activity for children.
Each library will also feature a display promoting Lunar New Year and the Year of the Rooster.
Morning tea and Rooster craft activities will be provided at the following bilingual story time sessions:
Vietnamese/English Bilingual story time
St Albans Library, Monday 30 January, 11.15am
Sunshine Library, Thursday 2 February, 11.15am.
Mandarin/English Bilingual story time
Deer Park Library, Wednesday 1 February, 11.15am.
