Man charged following sexual assaults - Port Melbourne

Detectives from Moorabbin Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team have charged a man following a series of alleged sexual offences at a Port Melbourne property.

The 40-year-old Port Melbourne man was charged on Tuesday with rape, attempted rape, living on the earnings of a sex worker, sex work without a licence and possess drug of dependence.

He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 20 January.

Detectives have been told the man allegedly contacted men via online websites such as Locanto and Craig’s List, claiming to be female.

Victims then attended a Pickles Street, Port Melbourne property on the belief they were meeting a woman.

The series of incidents is believed to date back to March 2016 and the investigation remains ongoing.
