A man was shot in the leg while walking along a quiet street in Melbourne's north on Thursday morning.
The 40-year-old man was on Curtin Avenue in Brunswick West when he was approached by an unknown man and shot about 5am, police said.

It’s understood a man was shot in the leg, by unknown offenders, inside his Wales Street home about 3.45am.
The victim was also assaulted by the masked offenders before they fled the scene.
A 26-year-old Brunswick West man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Four other people inside the house at the time were uninjured.
The investigation is ongoing.
