Man in custody following death of man in West Footscray

A 35-year-old man is in custody following the death of a man in West Footscray on Saturday night.

Emergency services were called to Ashley Street where a critically injured man was located about 7pm.
Paramedics attempted to revive the 24-year-old Epping man but he died at the scene.
Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and are awaiting the results of a post mortem.
A 31-year-old Brunswick woman has also been to spoken to by investigators and released pending further enquiries.
