The latest ABS data shows 250,100 jobs have been created in Victoria since November 2014, with 172,900 of them full time. In the last month alone, an additional 18,800 full time jobs were created.

Victoria’s unemployment rate has also dropped – now sitting at 5.9 per cent, compared to 6.7 per cent in November 2014 under the former Liberal Government.

During the year to June 2017, Victorian employment rose by 97,800 persons (+3.2 per cent), which is more than any other state, and the highest in absolute and percentage terms.

Victoria’s excellent June employment result was also the state’s fifth consecutive monthly increase in employment.

Victoria’s participation rate is also strong at 66.0 per cent, which is well above the national average of 65.0 per cent and reflects a high degree of confidence in the Victorian job market.
