Drug driving and speeding in Croxton East

The 30-year-old Hamilton man was travelling on Hamilton – Chatsworth Rd east of Hamilton when he was intercepted by police about 2.50pm on Monday 5 November.
The man, who had three passengers in the vehicle, also provided a positive roadside drug test.
He will receive a summons for excessive speed offences and drug driving.
The vehicle was not impounded as it was a hire car.
The intercept forms part of Operation Furlong, a state-wide road policing operation over the Melbourne Cup Carnival weekend.
The operation focusses on the safety of all road users over the period, targeting drink and drug driving, speed, distraction, fatigue and seatbelt use.
Operation Furlong commenced at 12.01am on Friday 2 November and will conclude at 11.59pm on Tuesday 6 November.
