Drink driver caught in South Melbourne

A 47-year-old woman was caught drink driving more than five times over the limit in South Melbourne on Monday afternoon.

South Melbourne police intercepted a car on Coventry Street about 4.15pm where the female driver returned a positive preliminary breath test.
She was taken back to a police station where she returned a blood alcohol concentration of 0.293 per cent.
The St Kilda woman had her car impounded and her licence was immediately suspended.
She is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving offences at a later date.
