Jeanette Rowe will read from her collection of ‘Whose’ books and give away drawings and share her wisdom and love of reading.
This event is suitable for pre-school children and will also have light refreshments for children and colouring in activities. This is also an opportunity to join the 1000 Books Before School program
About the program:
1000 Books Before School is a well-established early year’s literacy campaign which encourages parents and carers to provide positive early experiences of reading at home, by reading 1000 books with their children before they begin school.
Studies show that the earlier children are engaged with books and literacy, the better outcomes they have throughout life.
If you would like to participate in the 1000 Books Before School program register at any Brimbank Library and start your reading adventure.
Anyone who registers will receive a form to track the books they read to their children.
Children receive a small incentive from the library for reaching their reading goals and after reading 1000 books with their parents, children are awarded a certificate and gift to mark their achievement.
