Appeal for information after man's body found in Preston bin

Homicide Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance after the body of a 44-year-old man was located in a wheelie bin in Preston last Saturday 27 May.

A garbage man was emptying the bin at the intersection of Young and Butler streets shortly after 8am when the body of Broadmeadows man, Ashley Phillips was discovered.
Investigators believe the bin had been left on Butler Street near Young Street in the early hours of Friday 26 May and are keen to speak to anyone that may have information.
Police are appealing for anyone that may have seen any suspicious activity at the intersection of Young and Butler streets or the surrounding area.
