A green space in the heart of Sunshine

Brimbank Mayor Cr Margaret Giudice invited residents, shoppers and traders to have their say on the next stage of Sunshine’s Hampshire Road upgrade – between Devonshire Road and Bennett Place.
“Our vision for the heart of Hampshire Road is a place where shoppers can stay a little longer, meet friends and enjoy community events.
“We want to make this an inviting and green space where our community can come together to relax, socialise and enjoy their shopping,” Cr Giudice said.
Under the proposals Hampshire Road would remain open to traffic, but this section would be reduced to one lane in each direction – similar to Hampshire Road south of Devonshire Road.
The proposal also includes a lawn area and extensive tree planting – along with more space for footpath trading.
“We’re sharing these ideas with you, the people who live, work or play in Sunshine, and invite you to provide feedback.
“We’ve set up a pop-up park in Hampshire Road and invite you to come down and immerse yourself in this vision – through digital displays that showcase what is possible in Hampshire Road,” Cr Giudice said.
