Police investigate electrical store burglaries

Moonee Valley Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after thieves broke into two electrical stores in Maribyrnong and Essendon last month.


    Police say a gang of thieves that smashed their way into Southland Shopping Centre could be responsible for a similar rash of electrical store burglaries across Casey.

    In each instance the two male offenders have used power tools to gain entry to the buildings, however they left empty-handed every time.

    The first burglary occurred about 3.49am on 13 December at a store on Rosamond Road, Maribyrnong.

    The second burglary occurred two nights later at the same store, about 3.32am.

    The third burglary occurred at a Bulla Road, Essendon store about 4.06am, also on 15 December.

    Investigators have released an image of a stolen yellow 2013 Ford Focus ST used in the burglaries.

    One man is described as being tall with a muscly build and was wearing red Nike runners.

    The second man is described as being of medium height with a thin build and was wearing white Nike shoes.

    Both men were wearing predominantly black clothing at the time.
