Man steals Azan the Husky from owner in Dandenong

Investigators have been told the 49-year-old owner was walking his two Husky dogs east along David Street when he was approached by an unknown man who was walking a Labrador dog off its leash about 7.15pm on 4 August.
The unknown man asked where the victim obtained his dogs from and then pulled the victim’s dog lead.
As the victim tried to walk away, the man punched him to the left side of his face and pushed him into a garden bed.
The offender then unclipped the harness from one of the dogs, Azan, and ran off with him and his Labrador.
The offender was last seen running with the two dogs along James Street towards Heatherton Road.
Azan is a black and white Husky who is micro-chipped.
Police have been told Azan loves people, food and getting into cars.
Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released the below images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
The man is possibly aged in his early 20s and was wearing a red jacket at the time of the theft.
Police believe he may frequent the Dandenong area.
