Detectives have been told a 25-year-old man was driving a grey Holden Rodeo utility west on Wood Street about 12pm on 9 June when he noticed a Holden following him.

The dark Commodore sedan had imitation police lights affixed to the dash which were activated, causing the victim to pull over.

The male offender got out of the vehicle and approached the victim while he was seated in the driver’s seat.

He demanded cash before pulling him from the vehicle.

Two further offending men approached the victim and all three punched and kicked the victim while he was on the ground.

The victim received bruising and cuts to his face.

Investigators have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is perceived to be Caucasian, aged in his mid-30s, tall with a solid muscular build, spikey blonde hair with eyebrow piercing on his right eyebrow.

Anyone who recognises the male or has information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or file a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
