Police seek witnesses to Hillside stabbing

Melton Crime Investigation Unit detectives have been told the victim returned to his Nissan Silvia parked on Gourlay Road just after 3.30pm to find a man attempting to steal it.

The 33-year-old victim confronted the offender who stabbed him multiple times in the leg with what is believed to be a screwdriver.

The Hillside man sustained minor stab wounds and the offender fled in a black BMW sedan south along Gourlay Road.

The offender is perceived to be of Middle Eastern appearance and solid.
