Investigators have been told three unknown men attended the Hemmings Street shop about 7.30pm on Saturday 19 May.

One of the men, who was carrying what is believed to be a metal pole, threatened an employee before striking the pole on the counter.

One of the employees, a 47-year-old Dandenong man, attempted to fight the men off with a pole used to operate window shutters.

A short scuffle ensued before the men fled the scene stealing only chocolates and cigarettes.

Police have released CCTV vision of three men who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

All are perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged between 18 to 30-years-old, and were all wearing dark clothing with facial coverings.

The male employee received some serious but non-life threatening injuries as a result of the scuffle, a 45-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries and a 16-year-old girl who were also present at the time was uninjured.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report to www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
