Man arrested following sexual assault in North Melbourne

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested and interviewed a man today in relation to a sexual assault on a tram in February.

Investigators have been told a female boarded the route 57 tram toward West Maribyrnong about 10.40pm on 16 February 2018.
It is alleged as the tram was on Victoria Street in North Melbourne, a man stood behind her and sexually assaulted her.
A 36-year-old Dandenong man has been interviewed and released pending further enquiries.
