Serving Up Job Opportunities For Young Victorians

Minister for Industry and Employment Ben Carroll visited Burgerlove in South Melbourne today to meet Jobs Victoria participants who found work at the business with the help of The Bridge Inc.

Since October 2016, The Bridge has placed more than 60 long-term unemployed young people into sustainable jobs, including Frankston local Meg Keamy at Burgerlove, who faced barriers to finding work.

Meg had been unable to secure full-time work for more than 18 months but now works full time at Burgerlove.

The Labor Government’s $68 million Jobs Victoria employment program is delivering successful support services for people who face barriers to employment.

Meg is just one of the more than 2700 Victorians Jobs Victoria has placed in work – about 40 jobs a week since the program started.

The Labor Government has a goal of placing more than 5000 long-term jobseekers into meaningful work and is well on its way to achieving that target goal.
