It is alleged that three men wearing masks and armed with hammers attempted to enter the Paula Crescent, Doncaster East store at about 2pm.

Staff heard loud banging before observing the men trying to smash through a large solid glass door.

After striking the door between 20 – 30 times, the three men left the premises without gaining entry to the store.

They were then observed leaving the area in an older model dark grey Toyota Camry.

There were no injuries to staff and no property was stolen.

Investigators have released CCTV footage and are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the attempted robbery or who saw a dark grey Toyota Camry in the area at the time.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
