Molotov Cocktail thrown into St Kilda car park

Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a Molotov cocktail was thrown into a St Kilda car park on 24 January.

A man has entered the first level of the Canterbury Road hotel car park and threw the device just after 8am.

The Molotov cocktail has exploded and caused a small fire that did not cause any damage.

The man then fled the area on a bicycle.

Investigators have released an image of man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 40s, about 185cm tall, with short dark hair and a tattoo sleeve on his right arm.

He was wearing a distinctive Meerkatsu Kingz MMA lycra cycling top and riding a black mountain bike.
