Helping Businesses To Reduce Their Energy Costs

The Andrews Labor Government is helping businesses reduce their energy costs and increase their energy efficiency.

Funding from the 2016-17 and 2017-18 Victorian Budget’s includes:
- $7.2 million in direct assistance for Victorian businesses
- $3 million in funding for the Boosting Business Productivity (BBP) grants program to help 1,000 small and medium sized businesses reduce their energy costs through energy efficiency assessments and upgrades
- An additional $630,000 for BBP grants so manufacturers can improve their productivity, reduce business costs, cut waste to landfill and reduce greenhouse gas emissions
- $2 million to accelerate Victoria’s energy productivity and strengthen skills development in the energy efficiency workforce
- $1.7 million to help companies and building owners access innovative loan and finance options for investments in energy efficiency.
The Labor Government will continue to work with industry to strengthen energy productivity across the five most energy-intensive sectors, food and fibre, new energy technologies, the defence industry, construction and transport.
