Premier  Daniel Andrews today joined Member for Buninyong Geoff Howard and members of the Phoenix P-12 school community in Ballarat to inspect plans for the project.

Expected to open in late 2017, the three new buildings will be home to technology labs, performing arts spaces and a special ‘village’ for Year 5 and 6 students that will include an amphitheatre.

The project was funded in the Victorian Budget 2015/16 and is being designed by Y2 Architecture.

The Labor Government is building the Education State in Ballarat so every local student gets the opportunity for a great education and every community has access to a great school.

It invested a record $1.8 billion to build new schools and upgrade classrooms in the past two State Budgets, including upgrades and rebuilds for Ballarat Secondary, Delacombe Primary, Mount Clear Secondary, Daylesford Secondary, Bacchus Marsh College and Beaufort Secondary. Ballarat will also get its own Tech School.

This year’s Budget also sees 38 regional schools sharing in $151 million of upgrade works.
