6 million premises NBN-ready

The rollout continues at a strong pace and is on track for completion by 2020. The network build is more than 70 per cent complete outside major urban areas, and available to more than half of Australian homes and businesses nationwide.

nbn is working with retail broadband and telephony providers on a smooth migration experience for Australians as they switch to the new network.

nbn has lots of useful information available including its guide and new additions to its website. These resources can help Australians with the key things they need to know as the network is rolled out, including:

• when the network is expected to be available
• which retailers are available
• what speed tiers are offered
• how much data consumers might need
• what questions they should ask their retailer.

The Government is focused on providing a reliable and affordable broadband service to Australians which provides many different options so they can choose the most suitable plan for them.
