10 Easy Ways to Have Great Hair

A regular trim means less split ends and breakage. Visit a salon every six to eight weeks to keep your hair looking and feeling healthy.
Use a hair mask weekly to soften and hydrate your hair. Choose a mask to suit your hair, whether is over-treated, sun-damaged or dry.
Shampoo less often, as washing removes natural oils from your scalp and dries out your hair. Braid your hair or wear a good hat. Avoid too much heat when you use a blow-dryer, curling iron or straightener. Try a lower heat setting. It might take longer, but the gentler treatment is good for your hair.
You can also use a heat-protecting cream or spray. Rinse with cool water to close the hair cuticles and lock in the moisture. Hot water can remove natural oils from your scalp. This leaves it dry and flaky, and can even cause your hair to fall out.
Sleep on a silk pillowcase. Cotton pillow covers can catch your hair, causing it to break and the ends to split. They’re also absorbent, so they can suck the moisture from your hair, leaving it dehydrated. Massage your scalp to help blood circulation and encourage new hair growth.
Eat the right food to strengthen your hair. Hair is made of protein. Eat plenty of protein, like fish, meat and legumes.
Moisturise your hair to stop it drying out. Apply a cream to the hair ends daily. Don't brush wet hair, because it breaks more easily then. Use a brush with thin, flexible bristles that make untangling easier. Stiff bristles can cause split ends. Don’t brush too often.
