It is believed an offender has forced entry into an address on Alexander Avenue in Wallan about 1.20pm on 1 October.

Two children, a 13-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy, were home at the time and upon seeing this, it is understood the offender fled the scene.

No one was injured and nothing was stolen during this incident.

The man is perceived to be of Mediterranean appearance and described as about 175cm tall.

It is believed he fled in a stolen silver Toyota Rav 4 SUV.

The front passenger of the vehicle, also perceived to be of Mediterranean appearance, has been described as aged in his early 20s, about 175cm tall and was wearing a black and white baseball cap.

Detectives have released a facial composite image of this man in the hope someone may recognise him.

Investigators have also released CCTV of a vehicle they are hoping to identify.

The vehicle, registration ZLY-054, was stolen during a residential burglary in Craigieburn between 28 and 30 September.

The car has also been linked to burglaries at the following residential addresses:

• Halycon Bend, Beveridge around 1.20pm on 1 October

• Roulston Way, Wallan between 28 September and 2 October

In these two incidents, the house was unoccupied and offenders have stolen cash, jewellery and personal identification documents.

At this stage it is unclear in what order these incidents have occurred.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.gov.au.
