Police investigate Fitzroy sexual assault

Police have been told a 33-year-old woman was waiting for a ride share car on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy about 1.30am on Monday 9 January.

An unknown man approached the woman and sexually assaulted her.

The ride share car arrived about 30 seconds later and the woman was able to get in and leave the scene.

The offender who was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper fled the scene.

The man was described as being possibly Asian in appearance, 183cm tall, with broad shoulders and with black hair, and was wearing a light coloured t-shirt.
