Pedestrian dies in South Melbourne

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a tram on Kings Way in South Melbourne tonight.

It is believed the yet to be formally identified man has fallen onto tram tracks as a tram was approaching about 6pm and has died at the scene.
The exact circumstances are still being investigated and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
