It is believed a man entered a bakery on Anderson Street about 6am on 12 June and purchased several goods using a counterfeit $100 note.

A short time later, the same man entered a second bakery on Williamstown Road and used another counterfeit $100 note.

The man has been described as Caucasian and aged about 20 to 25 years old.

He was wearing a black and grey-sleeved bomber jacket with a blue shirt.

Investigators believe he may live in the area and frequent the Yarraville Village and Footscray areas.

Police have released images and footage of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Footscray Police Station on 8398 9800 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
