Fire in Pakenham

Emergency services were called to the blaze at a licenced premises on Main Street shortly before 2am on Thursday 15 November.

It is believed the fire started about 1.20am and was extinguished shortly after emergency services arrived.

The upper level of the building sustained approximately $250,000 worth of damage, however the venue was closed at the time of the fire and no one was inside.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious at this stage.

An unknown male was seen walking in the vicinity of the address just prior to the incident.

Investigators have released images and CCTV of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time to come forward.
