Detectives investigate South Melbourne burglaries and thefts

Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives are hoping to identify a man following a number of storage cage burglaries in South Melbourne last month.

It is believed a man entered the car park of an apartment building on Gladstone Street about 1am on 25 July.

While inside, he broke into a number of storage cages and stole property belonging to residents, including a suitcase and other personal items.

Detectives have released images of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived as Caucasian in appearance and aged in his 30s with short cropped hair and a slim build.

The man was wearing a distinctive red, grey and black striped jumper at the time.
