Investigators have been told a 24-year-old man from Clayton was walking on Haughton Road in Clayton South when he was approached by a man driving a light coloured SUV just before 6am on 11 January.

The man threatened the victim with a knife and baseball bat, demanding his wallet and mobile phone.

The victim did not hand anything over and ran away onto Carinish Road where he came into contact with a 32-year-old man on a bike.

Both men were again approached by the man in the SUV, who threatened the 32-year-old, demanding his wallet and mobile phone.

Police were called and the man in the SUV drove off.

He was last seen driving north-west along Carinish Road.

Investigators have released a composite image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

A partial registration number of the vehicle has also been released ending in 018.
